Mono Basin Recreation opportunities information signs Eastern California 20110925-131517 C4e
This was the main sign located above California State Route 395 and a view of Mono Lake and the Western most edge of the Great Basin. I cropped this image captured by my Canon EOS 60D I was using at the time so you do not see the title of the information sign: Mono Basin Recreation Opportunities. The detailed description may be a a bit small to read but the major captions should stand out. Of the eight places listed only Lundy Lake and Canyon escapes my memory and digital image files. We squeezed in Mono Lake County Park/Tufa State Reserve (visitor center), Mono Lake Viewpoint (site of this image capture), Tioga Pass and Lee Vining Canyon, June Lake Loop, Bodie State Historic Park, South Tufa, and Panum and Mono Craters (just got close). We were evidently there at the right time as a friend said there can be lots of flies in the area. We did not experience that especially in the near freezing mornings.
The places noted on this information map are, or will be, represented by my many photos published of this three day trip taken late September in 2011.
Note: I am generally publishing the photos in reverse chronological order so they will generally view in order from first to final slide on Flickr.com.
