Mountains Trees and Scrub Brush West of Mono Lake 20110926-102403 C4
When two photographers take a 300 mile road trip (nearly 500 Kilometers) from the far west to the far east of California, through valleys, mountain passes, forests, and the extremes of beautiful scenery, one expects to capture many images - especially in this digital camera age.
I usually like to tell a photo story on Flickr in reverse order (newest to oldest taken) so the story unfolds in order when viewed from first image to last image in the series. This does not always happen as the selection and editing process is time consuming as well as subjective. Consequently, what starts out as publishing a few key images, results in scores more as the selection and editing process continues to include more and more photos in the series. That happened when I started editing my album Untapped Blue and Brews Festival image taken in Kennewick WA in 2011. What started as a few images turned into an album of 123. That is also what happened with this Mono Lake Series.
This photo of a mountain, trees, scrub brush, and other vegetation was one of the last images taken on the morning we left the town of Lee Vining on Anita's and my Mono Lake trip in late September of 2011 - photography memories for two friends and neighbors.
This image also confirms there are plenty of scenic photo opportunities in the area at the edge of Mono Basin in addition to the beauty of Mono Lake.
