Rain west of Mono Lake Eastern California over Sierra Nevada mountains 20110925-173254 C4
Rain looks different from a distance than when it is falling directly on you. This image capture was from east to west as dusk was quickly approaching. The mountains and rain looks close because my Canon EOS 60D was zoomed almost all the way out. There was a lot of rain coming from those clouds. I am grateful it showed up so well on this digital image. The next day we would be heading over these or similar mountains on our way back toward San Francisco over the nearly 10,000 foot elevation of Tioga Pass.
