Anita walking through Mono Lake grasses on a cold cold morning 20110926-071312 C4
Captured this image of Anita walking the grasses bordering Mono Lake early on a cold Monday morning near the end of September 2011. My photography friend Anita and I had taken a trip to Mono Lake via California State Route 120 through Yosemite and over Tioga Pass. Though we did not get out to the lake as early as planned from the close by town of Lee Vining, we still beat sunrise. We parked near Navy Beach and I shot mainly from there. Anita walked some distance West toward the South Tufa Area. I used the telephoto feature of my Canon Powershot SX30 for this seemingly closeup shot taken from the same distance as the previous two slides. Anita's body language indicates the chill of the 37 degree Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius) temperature. It was COLD!
