Gravel garden!....................s128

This is my mum's garden which I planted about 20 years ago.

All the plants and shrubs here are planted through gravel to minimise weeding but now they've grown together the gravel has virtually disappeared. The garden is about 20 metres long and 3.5 metres deep.. It requires virtually no maintenance in the growing season and about 2 hours in the autumn and 2 hours in the spring to cut back the perennials and shrubs. All the large conifers were taken as 2-3 inch cuttings about 20 years ago and I'm always amazed how big they've grown.

I planted a range of perennials , evergreen flowering shrubs and winter flowering heathers so the garden has colour all year around
