Galapagos shark, Lord Howe Island, Australia
At Comet's Hole in the lagoon (accessible by boat). These sharks are relatively common here and I saw them everyday but one when I was snorkeling. Most were 4-5 ft. long, and the biggest was perhaps 6 ft. Apparently, the preferred habitat of this species is isolated oceanic islands, so Lord Howe Island certainly fits the bill. An aggregation of three-stripe butterflyfish is in the foreground being attended to by two cleaner wrasse.
