Dragonborn
Dragonborn were created by dragons to combine the qualities of a dragon with those of humans--though this makes them necessarily smaller and they can't fly, dragons figure that it is worth it. After all, it's not like the dragons themselves can go into human-sized houses and taverns (not without a really good polymorph spell, anyway).
Dragonborn take great pride in their heritage, and strive to be the best--not so much out of ego (though that is part of it), but because they are dragons, and they simply should be trying harder than the rest. This means that dragonborn can be some of the best companions an adventuring party can have; they can also be its greatest adversaries. Dragonborn don't do anything halfway. They also tend to be fanatically loyal to their own clan, though some break away and become rogues.
