And since we're on the subject of crossplaying, how about a complete gender reversal of the main characters of Hellsing?
In the series, Alucard is male--which makes sense, since he's Dracula--and Seras "Police Girl" Victoria is very female. It sets up some tension between the two, since Alucard is Seras' "sire"--he made her into a vampire. Her newfound powers make her a deadly sniper, while Alucard is simply the most powerful vampire on the planet.
While I have a ton of Hellsing cosplay in my album, this is the first time I've seen the gender switched on Seras. (Alucard does actually switch genders in the show, because he's insanely powerful.) So here's Lady Alucard, complete with her gigantic Casull pistol, and Sir Seras, with a (cut-down) Harkonnen cannon. They did a neat job on this cosplay, which is unique in my experience.
