An Arsenal of Applejacks

Howdy, partner!

Applejack was born into farming. It's all she's ever really known, and all that she's ever really wanted. While other ponies might want to laze around on park benches or fly around at supersonic speeds, Applejack's idea of a fun day is a day of hard work. Those apples aren't going to buck themselves off the trees, after all, and someone's got to clear the north forty. With her grandmother Granny Smith, her brother Big Mac, and her little sister Apple Bloom (plus a rather large extended family across Equestria), Applejack is a hard working farmer....

...when she's not helping to save the world. As the Element of Honesty, Applejack has been called on to fight everything from interdimensional monsters to Discord, the living manifestation of chaos. She never quits, she isn't afraid of getting her hooves dirty, and she's always there for her friends. It's not that Applejack is incapable of lying--she regards it as a major affront. She was raised better than that!

Applejack is one of only two Ponies in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to share a name and appearance with the original MLP from the 1980s. Ironically, for a cartoon character, she's named for an alcoholic drink. Since she's a (somewhat stereotypical) farmer, Applejack was given a mix of a Southern accent and a Western one; supposedly, one of the inspirations for her character was Dolly Parton.

Though not as popular as the other Mane Six--to the point that Applejack's occasionally been called the "best background pony"--she's popular with the MLP cosplay crowd: thanks to her cowboy hat, she's instantly recognizable.
