En 1974 el físico matemático Roger Penrose introdujo nuevas formas de rellenar superficies a partir de la yuxtaposición de piezas geométricas sencillas. Años después, estos entramados fueron descubiertos en la naturaleza, como un resultado más de procesos naturales de formación de sólidos. Estas estructuras no cumplían las condiciones geométricas intuitivas para ser llamadas cristales, pero la similaridad de sus propiedades con aquellos les proporcionó su nombre entre los científicos: cuasicristales.
El complejo proceso de construcción europea nos remite a un concepto similar, una suerte de cuasi-Europa, una entidad cuyo perfil todos intuimos pese a que sus propiedades, formalizadas por un grupo de autoproclamados expertos, son desconocidas para la gran mayoría.

Every day this last week the frontpages of the most powerful international media have refered to the role that universes and tools such as Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are apparently playing in relation to the conflict in Iran. New systems with inapprehensible effects whose capacity to capture attention takes the place of analysis and actions on the other older problems that are still, though, with no solution.
When an event is recounted and highlighted as an excuse to talk about other issues of a constitutive or structural order, the expansion of the game in the fantasy of the news item has occured. To this desployment we dedicate this week a game of simulation which may permit to explore the inherent complexity of the new systems of information diffusion.
