October 20, 2006: Hosted the 2nd International Peace Forum
The International Graduate University of Peace (President, Ilchi Lee) hosted the 2nd International Peace Forum in Seoul Korea, October 20, 2006 with the theme, “The Establishment of Peace on the Korean Peninsula and in East Asia.”
About twenty experts including Peter Beck, director of the Northeast Asia office of the International Crisis Group, Motofumi Asai, president of the Hiroshima Peace Institute, and professors from Korean universities, discussed solutions about nuclear weapons in North Korea, reconciliation between South and North Korea, and Peace on the Korean Peninsula. As the host, Ilchi Lee said, “Through this forum, I hope we can present a concrete and practical direction for peace in East Asia, and establish an international basis for developing a peaceful community.”
