Reasoning: Truth is a rare commodity in the digital age--especially in the political landscape. It is interesting (and painful) to see truth in its various outlets silenced for one reason or another--whether it be by governments or big business. By associating the word "treason" with truth, the artist, Peter Rollo, argues that we have built ourselves up with lies so much to the point that truth must be silenced to preserve what the lies have built. While this is a newer piece, I don't believe that it can be discounted since there is so much global unrest stemming from empirical "truth." Ultimately, this piece requires the viewer to question deeply the truth behind our politicians words.
