Woolwich Free Ferry

This is a piece of Shelley China, it is a small bowl with the image of "The Gordon", one of the first Paddle Steamers to operate the Woolwich Free Ferry on the Thames. She was built at Blackwall by R.H. Green & sons in 1888 and continued on the Thames until she was replaced by another "Gordon" in 1922. She was named after General Gordon who was born in Woolwich.
