Lambeth Pier

A Leon & Levy postcard printed in France showing Lambeth Palace and Lambeth Pier from the Lambeth suspension bridge in about 1906. The London County Council paddle steamer moored at the pier is the Boydell. It was built by Thames Ironworks at Blackwall and named after the 18th Century engraver and print publisher, John Boydell. In 1909 it was sold by auction after the service folded in 1907, it sold for £990.00 to the Royal Servian Privilege Steamship Company in Belgrade, Serbia, for service on the River Danube.
