Tower Bridge
This is a Leon & Levy postcard printed in France dating from about 1904. It shows Tower Bridge from the south bank looking north west towards the Tower of London which can be seen between the towers of the bridge. There is a Thames Steamboat Company paddle steamer making its way upstream about to go under the Tower Bridge roadway with its articulated funnel in the down position. It is one of the "ABC" boats built for the Thames Steamboat Company in 1898 by the Thames Ironworks at Blackwall, they were the "Alexandra", "Boadicea" and "Cleopatra". I think that the boat shown is either the "Alexandra" or "Cleopatra". All three boats served with the company until it went out of business in 1912.
