Victoria Embankment
This is 1909 and three of the London County Council paddle steamers are moored in the middle of the Thames after the LCC riverboat service failed. All three boats, Fitzailwin, Edmund Ironside and Christopher Wren were purchased by the City Steamboat Company in 1909 and continued service on the Thames until 1916 when all three were commandeered by the War Office for service in Mesopotamia where they served the Royal Indian Marine on the River Tigris, none returned to the UK.
