Westminster Pier

This is an anonymously published postcard probably colourised in Germany which is appropriate because the paddle steamer on the right is the Empress Frederick, built in 1891 for the Victoria Steamboat Association by the Samuda Bros at Poplar. She worked on the Thames until 1911 and I believe shown here in the livery of the Thames Steamboat Company but because it is colourised I can't be certain. The writing on the wall for paddle steamers on the Thames can be seen on the left with the presence of the screw propelled pleasure steamer "Winifred" also belonging to the Thames Steamboat Company.
