Broad Court

This is a Whiteway Publications Ltd postcard from 1984 which was one of a series showing 'Punks' in various parts of central London. The location of this photograph is Broad Court which runs at the side of Bow Street Magistrates Court and I think the Police Constable is probably stationed at Bow Street Police Station which adjoined the Magistrates Court. The photographer was Joe Cornish who later became a famous Landscape Photographer. The 'Punk' girls are named in another postcard but I don't know which is which, Juju and Lizzie. You can still see 'Punks' in London over forty years since their heyday. I agree with Danny Baker about 'Punk', it was and still is overrated, watch this clip from a recent edition of Room 101.
