Carling Cup 2009

A nice Sunday day trip down to Wembley. Ellie played "taxi" and dropped us of at Wigan for a 9am train.

Bit late into London, so decided to go straight to Wembley instead of meeting Chris at Baker Street.

A stroll down from Wembley Central Tube station presented a number of Spurs only pubs. In fact we couldn't find any pub to go in on that side of Wembley. This meant the off-licences did a roaring trade as most fans bought some cans to sup on the street. It was all good natured and the police occasionally moved in and fed the drains with copious amounts of alcohol. What a waste!

We had similar seats to the FA CUP Final, behind the goal and quite high up. The game was pretty dull - at least the penalties were taken into our end and we won!!

It wasn't Moscow, but there are still worse things to do on a Sunday :-)
