Distorted Vision
Rubattino, Milano
Still capturing life and architecture with my entry level kit-lens Canon 18-55. Distortion at 18mm is really evident. but not so disturbing. A picture with a superwide angle lens Canon 10-20 wouldn't have caught of the point of the place (yes, to be honest I am really envious of the ones who have a 10-20).
By the way, I feel there is something distorted in those buildings lying in the Rubattino district, just some miles from my home. A green pedestrian alley with tall buildings, ten - twelve floors on both sides, happy children in the playgrounds and a paved square with an already-seen-fountain. But there is something strange in the air, it looks like a quite nice outskirt district... but in the nearby there is practically nothing for some hundred meters. Looking at faces there I can't get out of my head that it's like a small reserve for rich people (rents are crazy, more than everywhere else in Milan), close to the motorway, and not badly connected with the public transport to the center, with a huge mall reachable on foot, of course. That's not my idea of city. My idea of city is not a place with rows of tall buildings, no shops, no place to go out, just the so called "safety" bought with expensive rates and a bit of isolation.
