Climb up

Dubrovnik, Croatia

A notable feature of Dubrovnik urban environment is its "cross section". If we would cut the city from north to south we would see a kind of reversed L. Inside the huge city wall, in the southern part of the city loads of tiny streets depart perpendicularly from the main road, the "Stradun" (a world curiously similar to the Northern Italian dialect word "stradùn" (big street), probably a part Venetian heritage). In the northern side, the streets soon become endless stairs which climb up the mountain till the city walls, which lie at a discrete altitude in this side of the city. The sight is typically mediterranean. I have never been to Marseille and Naples, but I felt like I was breathing a part of their air.
