Inrap Wireframes

Client

Inrap (National Institute for Research in Preventive Archaeology) is responsible for excavations throughout France and its overseas territories, covering all periods from Prehistory until Modern Times. Inrap community includes 1,500 archeologists located around France, as well as hundreds of support staff, governmental and scientific research partners, and contractor. Its mission is to disseminate and publish the results of its evaluations and excavations for the benefit of the research community and the general public.

Use case

According to my research, the targeted web site users would more likely look for all available information on a specific archeological period. But the information was at the time organized according to its formats: The sections were videos, news, diggings descriptions, mini-sites.

Also, since it was first designed, the content had rapidly grown. The site was now rich enough to propose a new information architecture: I advised to reorganize the site by focusing more on the content. For example, in the above wireframes I proposed to aggregates all the content about antiquity onto one page, whatever the format of the information was.
