Thought to be :- Daniel Doncaster & Co. - Sheffield. (Found - Tankersley 2008). Daniel Doncaster were, or perhaps still are, predominantly a steel forging concern with works on Penistone Road in Sheffield and with subsidiary works in Leeds and in South Wales. I started my working life in their employment in1963 and I was not aware that they had interests in brickmaking until I came across this specimen. The imprint in the frog of the brick is identical to Daniel Doncaster's company logo. If anyone can throw more light on the brickmaking side of the business it would be appreciated.
