Fox Fur Nebula

The Fox Fur Nebula, located in the constellation of Monoceros.

 

This nebula is filled to the brim with goodies. Reflection nebula, emission nebula, dark dust, a multitude of star colours.

 

Off to the left hand side is the Christmas Tree star cluster, the bottom right is the fox fur. Joining the two regions of hydrogen gas is a reflection nebula.

 

This is a close up of a much larger region generally called the Christmas Tree cluster due to its shape closely resembling a Christmas tree.

 

I captured this from my garden telescope across 3 months. A total combined exposure time of 25.6 hours across LRGB and Ha filters was what it took to produce this one photo. I started capturing light from this region of sky back in November 2023.
