TRAFFIC MR FANTASY US STEREO FRONT COVER NAE
R2
A January anniversary. In January 1968, TRAFFIC (Steve Winwood) released their legendary first album on United Artists records in the U.S. which came to be known as Dear Mr. Fantasy. It was originally titled Heaven Is In Your Mind on very early pressings but with the same cover. It was released in the U.K. in December `67 with a different cover but titled Dear Mr. Fantasy. The U.K. and U.S. versions differed somewhat with slightly different songs included. As for re-issues, to add to any confusion, the original U.K. version and cover were issued for the first time in the U.S. on Island Records in 1978. In 2009, Sundazed Records re-issued the very rare U.S. Mono mix version originally released on United Artists in January 1968 when the album was still titled Heaven Is In Your Mind and originally went out of print fairly quickly as the majority of U.S. record buyers at that point were buying "stereo" records as opposed to "mono" versions of the same album.
