Struttin’ Her Colors

Whenever I am shooting in Portland I always make sure I arrive at this spot during the evening when the sun hits these columns just right. You are looking at the south side of the historic United States National Bank, a building I photograph often because of its interesting design. For months I have been waiting for the right person to stroll up that sidewalk to put a human touch on what would normally be an ordinary architecture scene. From young skaters surfing the small incline to commuters depositing money into parking meters I have stood on this street corner for extended periods of time photographing various characters as they happened by only to be disappointed after viewing each picture on my computer.

At last I think I found my subject this past weekend. With her style and colorful attire I believe this person is the exclamation point I was looking for.
