Archers folly, 1849.

Building of this bluestone structure commenced in 1849 by John Kinder Archer.The front of the house was built but at this stage Archer suffered a number of setbacks.Two of his ships he owned collided in Bass strait in a severe storm.They were carrying building materials for the house and were uninsured .The house was never finished or lived in.In the late 1970s it was razed by fire.
