Curtiss YP-37
An attempt by the Curtiss engineers, to improve that P-36 Hawk. They removed the radial engine and added an Allison V-12 engine. They also moved the cockpit back. The aircraft showed promise but the superchargers were problematic and this fine looking aircraft was never produced in large numbers. About 13 were made, and then the company moved forward with development of the P-40.
