This was quite a large and very conscientious spider, about the size of my top thumb joint, that had a web connecting my garage to a nearby plant which I originally spotted in my car head lights. During the day there were two guide lines left to cross the gap. Every night she would come out and spin a complete, conventional web and in the morning roll it up collecting the web in a ball and retiring to the garage. This carried on for about two months until a severe hail storm, during which she disappeared. In the photo she is busy spinning a new web and the ball she is holding is gluey web. The web as seen is quite sparse, early in the building process, but eventually it would be filled to a much closer set of lines.
