Sub-zero Christmas.

Christmas Day, 1983 was brutally cold in the Chicagoland area, with an overnight low of -17 degrees F and a daytime high of -5F. The Milwaukee Road was still running trains though, and SD40-2 23 leads a westbound onto the C&M subdivision at Tower B17 as the train departs Bensenville yard. A maintainer is working to free the frozen points on a turnout so a pair of units on the hump job can pass.
