Cocktail Party for Host Families, Kaga Japan
Dundas Canada and Kaga Japan were twinned in 1968 (mundialization) and every three years, a group of students from Kaga travels to Dundas to experience the Canadian lifestyle and similarly, every three years (different years) Dundas students visit Kaga.
In 1990 it was Dundas's turn to visit Kaga and I was on that trip as Head Chaperone, which included 30 students and 7 chaperones.
One evening the Canadian chaperones put on a Canadian style cocktail party for the Japanese families hosting us and the Canadian students. Note that nobody is wearing shoes, as the custom in Japan is to remove your shoes before entering the room, even for a large gathering.
This photo was taken in August 1990 on 35mm colour print film.
