A Swarm of Snow Geese
I heard the geese honking as I pulled into the parking lot at Terra Nova Nature Area, but as I was walking towards them they were startled by another birder and lifted en masse from the ground. I just had time to turn on my camera and take a few shots of the flock in the air, now looking more like a swarm of insects. Taken on Feb 15, 2009. Terra Nova Nature Area is in the northwest corner of Richmond, a small city just south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
