Brigid Flower Necklace OOAK Made by Springcolors- detail

This necklace was inspired by a rosette window I've seen in the Galway Cathedral during a trip to Ireland with my husband. You can see the lovely rosette here:

As a tribute to it's place of inspiration, this necklace is dedicated to the ancient Celtic goddess Brigid - the goddess of all things high such as high-rising flames, highlands, hill-forts and upland areas; and of activities and states conceived as psychologically lofty and elevated, such as wisdom, excellence, perfection, high intelligence, poetic eloquence, craftsmanship (especially blacksmithing), healing ability, druidic knowledge and skill in warfare. Brigid is truly a first lady of style and all things important.

This delicate necklace is made of a central pink cabochon, circled with Swarovski pink and green crystals and Swarovski pink pearls. The rosette shape is achieved by delicate petals in clear charcoal beads and pink tear drop beads.

This necklace has been created for the Etsy Beadweaver's (EBW) Beadweaving August Challenge. The theme of this month's challenge is "First Ladies of Style".

The length of the necklace is approximately 21.3" (54 cm). The diameter of the center piece is a approximately 2.4" (6 cm).

The necklace is unique, one of a kind and handmade.

This necklace contains lovely iridescent beads and crystals which change color depending on the reflection of light. The nature of these beads makes it difficult to do them proper justice in the photographs. Believe me, I've tried! The iridescent colors give the necklace an lilac/pink/violet shine depending on the angle. The effect is really stunning.
