Hanging around

String of bees on grass. Lasioglossum (Chilalictus) sp. Males cluster at night, where the females may be in a nesting tunnel in the ground. The males don't have the pollen collecting hairs on their hind legs. There were perhaps about 50 bees in total on 6 or 7 grass heads. Paruna Reserve, Como NSW Australia, January 2010.
