The two faces of Sydney Blue-Banded Bees

Square heads? Their faces look so weird. Male Blue-Banded Bees, Amegilla asserta on the left with the yellow face and narrow marks, and Amegilla pulchra on the right with the cream face and wide marks. These are the two species of Blue-Banded Bees commonly found around Sydney. Paruna Reserve, Como NSW Australia, January 2010.
