SÜDAFRIKA, Rund um das Cape of Good Hope,
Das Kap der Guten Hoffnung ist ein sehr markantes, früher wegen seiner Klippen gefürchtetes Kap nahe der Südspitze Afrikas.
Es liegt im Nationalpark Tafelberg.
Das hohe und steile Kliff mit vorgelagerten Felsstrand liegt wie Cape Point am Südende der Kap-Halbinsel, etwa 44 km südlich des Stadtzentrums der nach ihm benannten Metropole Kapstadt. Es ist der südwestlichste Punkt Afrikas – nicht der südlichste, das ist das rund 150 km entfernte Kap Agulhas – und damit jenes Kap, an dem die afrikanische Westküste endet und die Südküste beginnt, wo nach Osten der Atlantische in den Indischen Ozean übergeht.
Die Felsenlandschaft am Kap der Guten Hoffnung dehnt sich auch unter Wasser aus. Ein Großteil dieser Klippen liegt mit einem halben bis drei Meter nur wenig unter dem Meeresspiegel und kann bei Niedrigwasser sichtbar werden.

The Cape of Good Hope is a very striking cape near the southern tip of Africa, once feared for its cliffs.
It is located in the Table Mountain National Park.
Like Cape Point, the high and steep cliff with a rocky beach in front of it lies at the southern end of the Cape Peninsula, around 44 km south of the city center of Cape Town, the metropolis named after it. It is the most south-westerly point in Africa - not the most southerly, which is Cape Agulhas, around 150 km away - and therefore the cape where the African west coast ends and the south coast begins, where the Atlantic Ocean merges with the Indian Ocean to the east.
The rocky landscape at the Cape of Good Hope also extends under water. The majority of these cliffs are only half a meter to three meters below sea level and can become visible at low tide.
