Baby Snapper

A newly hatched Snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) on a sandy beach makes its way into the waters of Lake Superior in the early morning sun. If you look closely, you can see it's still sporting its "egg tooth" (or caruncle - which helps it break out of its egg) on its "upper lip".
