I particularly like the clean background in this photograph.

 

How it happened. There were 2 roadrunners standing together in the middle of the road. As my car approached, they split up. One ran to one side of the road (the bird above) and the other ran to the opposite side of the road and disappeared into the brush. The bird above stood by the side of the road, and looked across the road towards where his partner had gone. I got out of my car, quickly put my camera onto my tripod, and pointed the lens at the bird with no time to spare as it began to run across the road.
