Norwood Ma. Purple Mulberry tree.

I am now on a Mulberry tree quest. a very enjoyable walk with my sister around Natick, she discovers a beautiful small red Mulberry tree.

The tree had grown from under a capstone on a wall its a very small tree but long established and provides a lot of fruit for the size of the tree which is rather small no more than seven feet.

Last seasons collection of my own white Mulberry fruit from my own tree has resulted after stratification successful germination of many little trees.

 

I decided a tree in Natick is a doomed tree and even when the unfortunate tree decides to grow in a nice old stone wall.

I decided to head back for more berries to give this tree a future some place else, i also remembered my walks in Norwood i discovered a beautiful large purple Mulberry tree

and rounded up a great number of berries as well.

 

So now i have white , red and purple to grow.

again animal lovers and birders should look to this tree..what a magnet it is for wildlife .
