Corfe Castle
The last royal owner was Queen Elizabeth the first who sold the castle in 1572.
Between 1643 and 1646, the castle twice held off sieges in the civil war. It then was finally captured.
Between 1446 and 1663 the castle started to be demolished by Parliamentarian, Oliver Cromwell.
Today, we would call him a "Vandal".
