I remember the first Peaks arriving at Leeds Holbeck (55A) in 1961, I was just 9 years old They were turned out in Brunswick Green with red buffer beams with a small yellow front panel. This collection all wear BR Blue with full yellow front panels.
After several trial runs over the Settle & Carlisle they were eventually rostered on the "Thames Clyde Express" working between London and Glasgow and the "Waverley" which ran between St Pancras and Edinburgh Waverley.
