Ex Conrail D8-40W 8312 at Roanoke, Virginia

Built for Conrail in March 1989 and originally numbered 6047, NS 8312 is photographed at rest at Norfolk Southern's Roanoke MPD. Norfolk Southern acquired 1167 locos from Conrail in the 1997 asset sale and 8312 had the distinction of being the last one to be deployed operationally in its original Conrail Blue livery. It was eventually retired by NS in November 2014.
