60014 "Alexander Fleming" is captured crossing the River Aire at Brotherton, near Selby with steel bogies with the cooling towers of Ferrybridge Power Station providing the backdrop. The original Brotherton Tubular Bridge was built by Robert Stephenson in 1850, with the superstructure having to be rebuilt in 1903 by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company of Darlington.
The Class 60 was named in honour of the Scottish physician and microbiologist, best known for discovering the world's first broadly effective antibiotic substance, which he named penicillin.
