Seminole Gulf 578 Crossing the Caloosahatchee River, North Fort Myers, Florida
Seminole Gulf's 578 is seen crossing the Caloosahatchee River on its return journey from Arcadia to Fort Myers. The bridge was completely destroyed by Hurricane Ian in 2022 and rebuilt by SGR at its own expense, opening for traffic again earlier this year. The railroad mainly carries timber, building materials, stone, LP gas, plastics, steel and recycled materials and has an interchange yard with CSX in Arcadia.
