BNSF Coal Working Along the Mississippi River, Hannibal, MO

American railroad bridges have always been a favorite subject of mine and I have spent countless hours pouring through books in an effort to identify the more interesting ones, many of which, sadly are no longer in use. Thankfully that was not the case here in Hannibal, Missouri and whilst the main objective was to catch a Norfolk Southern working crossing the river, on this swing bridge originally built by the Wabash Railway, BNSF kindly provided me with an unexpected shot during my wait.

The Northbound empty coal working has 8843 on point with 8230 in number two position.
