60030 "Cir Mhor" at Haltwhistle in Pouring Rain

I wasn't going to upload this, The Ektachrome 200 (Pushed 1 stop to 400) has produced a very grainy image, one that is not helped by a soaking wet photographer and his diminishing efforts to keep rain off the lens set with a very shallow depth of field. But on reflection I thought that maybe I should for several reasons. Take the Portakabins out of it, along with the electronic signaling, the generator, the platform lighting, the concrete sleepers and the newly constructed office/warehouses in the background and you have a typical railway scene that belongs in the 40's. Original station buildings and platforms, original signal box and footbridge and most impressively, an original water tower and water crane.

In torrential rain 60030 "Cir Mhor" runs through Haltwhistle on route from BSC Lackenby to the Hardendale Quarry in Cumbria.
