Eastbound “California Zephyr” Through Ruby Canyon, Colorado
I’d first read about the Ruby Canyon in some old Denver & Rio Grande railroad publications and then later on, after seeing some actual photographs of the canyon I was determined that I had to make the trip, which was quite a drive from our home in Fort Myers, Florida. Whilst the frequency of traffic here is no where like the busy trans-continental routes, I m did manage to secure a few pleasing shots during my 2 day visit. The light wasn’t perfect when I photographed Amtrak’s eastbound “California Zephyr” but it does provide some scale to the canyon and leaves us in no doubt about the origin of the name.
