5 Santa Fe Units Head a Intermodal Round The Tehachapi Loop
5 Santa Fe units are photographed round rounding the famous Tehachapi Loop at Walong, supported a 2 Mid Train Helpers. The Lash up also includes a "B" Unit which were not often seen during my trips to this location.
Since the arrival of Digital technology in photography, there have been numerous debates as to which produces the better image, film or digital. There are several factors that ultimately determine the quality of a given image which make it is almost impossible to make a qualified judgement. That said I have shot with some of the finest film cameras loaded with what I consider to be the best films (Fuji Provia and Fuji Velvia), but nothing that I have ever used used compares to the image quality of my Leica and Fuji Digital Cameras. The above shot is a crop taken from a Pentax Medium Format Camera with Fuji Provia and whilst it has resulted in an acceptable image, I have absolutely no doubt that the Leica M8 would have produced a better result both in terms of clarity and color rendition.
