31’s and 47’s at Leeds Holbeck May 1991

I used to visit Holbeck in the days of steam. In fact it became a regular Saturday outing for me and couple of mates when the challenge was always trying to get into the shed without being spotted. We had 4 different "entry points" and looking back our success rate was pretty good, although we were turfed out on several occasions.

In those days the shed would have Jubilees, Scots, Black 5's and the occasional Clan. This was also the period when the first Peaks arrived at Leeds. The weekend would normally also include trips to the sheds at Farnley and Copley Hill and the day would end back home perched on the dining room table entering all the days "Cops" into the Ian Allan Combined.

In July 1991 things looked a whole lot different
