Photographed at Morristown, New Jersey Amtrak’s #487 was built in September 1957 by the General Motors Electro-Motive Division for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. It later passed to Penn Central following their acquisition of New Haven and from there on to Conrail and ultimately to Amtrak.
